core business has been in the development and deployment of security and communications equipment for heavy industry, particularly mining in mines,” he said. “With the new location in the Greater Toronto Area, we can now reach new customers in the industrial and service sectors there and offer them our systems for collision avoidance as well as our other communication solutions for distance measurement.” Within that statement, Florian G. Schauenburg, CEO of the Schauenburg International Group, also voiced his support: “Through the acquisition of MCS and NCSS, Jannatec creates an additional foothold and thus secures long-term business development in a future-oriented market that is currently developing very quickly. This strengthening in the field of communication is a correct and important step towards diversification.” Rey reiterates that diversification is a key goal of the company right now. He says there are a lot of industries, construction included, where they see a lot of untapped potential. “We really want to try to jump into those industries and provide the same kinds of products and services that we’ve provided to the mining industry,” he says. “We think what we have to offer could really serve them.” Lastly, as the company progresses, Marc says they will continue to invest heavily in research and development and continuous improvement. He says they recognize that they are “a technology company – and technology changes quite quickly.” “We’ve seen the world transfer from paging to two-way-radio, now we’re seeing the world transfer from two-way radio to LTE – and we’re adapting to that,” he concludes. “We’re always adapting to the trends and the changes in the market. We’re always looking at where the industry is heading. I think that’s why the company has been so successful over the past 25 years – and I think that’s why we’ll be successful for the next 25 years and beyond.” DECEMBER 2023
