designed it to have the feel of “being in the forest.” The floor is stamped concrete, the siding is engineered wood, and there are a couple other special features that the company is throwing in to really make the building stand out. “Those clients love the build so far,” Jared says. “They don’t have enough nice things to say about the process and the products that we decided to use.” On the residential side, meanwhile, North Wood recently completed two custom homes. Those homes were of similar sizes – they are both between 1,500 and 2,000 square feet – but they had “very different styles,” Jared says. One home was on the lake and had “a very contemporary feel.” The other home had a tighter budget, so there weren’t as many resources to devote to the façade, but the result is just as well-considered. “Those projects demonstrate that budget and design can vary greatly but our focus on quality is always the same.” Moving forward, Jared wants to continue doing that kind of variety of work. He also wants the company to continue growing in every respect – he wants to grow their team, their service offering, and their building capabilities in a manageable and sustainable way. “Ever since the beginning, I’ve always had big goals for this company, and I’ve worked diligently on those goals,” he says. “We want to keep growing our capabilities. That’s part of why we bought into Castle Building Centres, and why we’re building a brand new Castle facility. We want to be able to APRIL 2023
