the larger customers.” RNR added a CNC Beam Line drill to their shop several years ago and having this piece of equipment has really improved efficiency. It’s also helping to set them apart among their competitors as they have one of only a few in Winnipeg. “It’s a 40-foot beam line that drills holes efficiently to improve the quality and efficiency of our production,” Edward explains. Joelene says “It’s a lot faster to do the beams, angles and tubes with holes. For manpower, it would take a lot more time. This way, we just program it, the guy puts it on the machine, and it does its own thing, and he can walk away and do something else while it’s drilling.” “Richard has been eyeing that machine for a while,” Edward says. “For us to be able to compete with our competitors that is the machine that can help us be more competitive with our numbers. It’s been a big help.” When it comes to relationships with staff and customers, Edward shares his personal perspective on what encouraged him to stay with RNR. “Basically, I like the people in the company. I like the way they treat people. They look after your future. Also, I see growth in the company.” He adds that opportunities for training, promotions, and bonuses are also perks of working at RNR. Joelene says RNR started with two employees. Today, the company has seven employees along with Joelene and Edward. There are five employees in the shop and two in the office.
