Zsiros Contracting’s record of ground-breaking and award-winning builds, and it’s particularly showcased in their history of building Net Zero homes. That history starts with the company building the very first Net Zero Home on North Vancouver Island – a home which demonstrated that a Net Zero energy-efficient, stylish home could be designed and constructedona limitedbudget, while virtually eliminating energy bills from day one. That history continues to this day – at the most-recent 2022 CHBA Awards, J. Zsiros Contracting earned a nomination for ‘Best Custom or Renovated Net Zero Home’ and a victory for ‘Best Entry-Level Home,’ also for a Net Zero build. Jim has personally been engaged in the construction industry since the early 1990’s. Throughout his career, he’s always been passionate about building efficiently – not just in terms of the environment but also in terms of cost. In recent years, he’s worked hard to marry those two passions. Through continuous education, innovative thinking, and partnerships with key suppliers, he has figured out how to build homes that are both energyefficient and affordable. “I believe energy-saving homes are the way of the future and it’s important to protect the environment,” he says. “But I also believe it’s important to give younger people a way to get into their own homes.
