That’s according to Yanik Morin, the second-generation president of the company. He joined the family business in 2012 in an entry-level role, and he rose through the ranks in the years that followed. In 2020, he took over in his current and rebranded the company to its current title. Prior to Yanik’s involvement, Morin Supply was founded in 1986 by brothers Claude, Gerald and Daniel Morin, originally under the title ‘Morin Bros. Building Supplies Inc.’ They were joined in the early days by their younger brother Gaston. Together, they grew the company from a modest 4,800-square-foot ship on Grenfell Cresent in Nepean, into a major distributor of specialty construction products and materials across the National Capital Region. ‘From the start, their main purpose was they wanted to bring innovative products to the market,” Yanik recalls. “They did that successfully, and that’s something we carry on today. We supply a lot of new and innovative products. We help provide better solutions for contractors and building owners.” Today, Morin Supply supports homeowners, tradespeople, contractors, engineers, architects, and other construction professionals in residential, commercial, and industrial projects of all sizes and complexity. Their products contribute to a wide array of projects, ranging from simple basement renovations to highrise construction projects. The majority of the company’s clients, however, are bigger contractors, and the biggest percentage of their business is OCTOBER 2022
