refining what they do. As part of that refinement, they want to provide their team with opportunities to grow by putting them in new roles and giving them new experiences. “Right now, for example, we’re spending a lot of time having the construction folks come into the office to spend time with the architects in order to understand the decisions they’re making upfront,” Ewan says. “And vice versa, too – we’re having the architects spend time in the field so they can better understand what happens on site. We believe that building those relationships and fostering that understanding is going to help us to problemsolve better. In the meantime, it also makes for a fun culture and a fun environment.” OCTOBER 2022
