Solvest Inc. is a northern Canadian-based solar company founded with the goal of empowering both individuals and communities through renewable energy self-sufficiency. Their specialty is remote energy generation. They work with a wide range of clients on a wide range of projects – everything from residential solar systems, commercial solar, energy storage, solar power systems for First Nations and Inuit communities, and utility-scale solar power systems. In each case, they work closely with the client to design and install a custom system tailored to accommodate their individual needs. “No matter what kind of solar solution you need, we are your partner in the complete energy experience,” says Danny Guhl, Director of Sales andMarketing. “That’s our brand promise.” Solvest was founded in 2012 by co-founders Ben Power – now Chief Executive Officer – and Drew Cameron – now Chief Business Development Officer. Before starting Solvest, Ben studied engineering at the University of Calgary and went on to work as an engineering assistant at PCL Construction, where he was responsible for managing various teams and projects at different phases of construction. Drew, meanwhile, initially started his career as a paramedic in Ontario and Alberta. Subsequently, he worked in health and safety in remote locations for the energy sector, and had two other businesses prior.
