like more would happen. Just in theperiod I’vebeenhere, there’s been a movement for a lot more residential development and a movement for more commercial development. There’sanincreasingpopulation that needs good amenities, and we’re starting to see people invest in that. We wanted to be a part of that movement.” ModBox decided on a unit mix of 54 condominiums in consultationwiththeirarchitect, Linebox Studios. Each of the units was designed to provide a “unique full home experience” for its residents. Modbox itself was extensively involved in tailoring interior layouts to their “uniquely upscale buyer” – people who see this as a longterm home rather than a rental or interim dwelling. The units all include large living areas, master bedrooms with room for king-sized beds, kitchens with an abundance of counter space, plenty of storage, and “amazing views.” The project as a whole was also designed to “incorporate themes and proportions” from the original church structure, while still modernizing them. The materials chosen are “unique and authentic,” like terracotta brick, natural wood and concrete. In general, Darryl describes the architecture by Linebox as “forward-thinking.” He says the design “seeks to create an environment that will foster community interaction and engender a high quality of life,” and he calls the result “fluid and seamless, transitioning effortlessly from the exterior to the interior with the church and its bell tower at the heart of everything.” The design also left room for some customization on the part of buyers – much more customization, Darryl says, THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
