Excited for the future Currently, Sunset Homes is divided into two main teams – one for inner city work, the other for acreages. Since both scopes can be quite different, most of the services and trades involved are also different. As for the size of their projects, Pedro says that can differ greatly. In recent years, they have built mostly single dwellings, but they also done some duplexes and four-plexes. They are even currently doing a six-plex in the Westmount area, which will be their first multifamily project. Moving forward, Pedro says they are interested in pursuing future multi-family projects, but they don’t intend to ever abandon the single family space. They do intend to do more homes – in particular, more acreage work – but Pedro says they will only grow as fast as they can find good people. They never want to grow if it compromising on their quality or attention to detail. Fortunately, Pedro adds, they have been pretty successful in recent years at finding employees who fit their culture. They believe they have the team in place to grow from doing twoto-three acreages per year to doing around six in the future. “We are in a growth phase right now and are super excited for the year ahead,” he concludes. “Our team is growing and we have been expanding more and more into acreages, which is a great opportunity for new business opportunities.
