where we’re trying to push right now,” Sean says. “Over the past three years or so, we’ve really been studying how EV charging is going to shape our city,” he explains. “That has paid off, because everyone is going green now – they almost have to, with the cost of gas now. That puts us in a good position, because we’ve been researching this for a while now.” When it comes to multi-family buildings in particular, Sean reports they are receiving a lot of interest. A lot of clients have brought them in to create an “EV-ready plan,” which involves them monitoring the power of the building and figuring out how much power is available for EV charging for each tenant. Sean says it’s a good time for those clients to take that step because of the rebates that are on offer from BC Hydro to incentivize workplace EV chargers, multi-unit residential chargers, andpublic EV charging stations. “The government is really trying to get the infrastructure in here in Vancouver and on the West Coast,” Sean says. “We really want to be a part of that.” TCA’s current focus on EV charging is in line with one of their main points of difference, according to Sean, which is that “we’re always learning.” “When we’re presented with something new, we dive in,” he explains. “We do the research.
