FEBRUARY 2021 Buttcon’s teamisalsosupported by project management technology, quality control systems, and innovative strategies. Together, those value-added project tools also go a long way towards ensuring a project’s success. For example, the company formally utilizes a partnered process called QRP (Quick Resolution Process), which ensures the timely resolution of issues that are not addressed by standard project methodology. That process “augments and compliments current project management practices with respect to accelerating issue resolution and the decision- making process.” They alsohave a comprehensive CAT (Commissioning, Activation and Transfer) program, which is implemented at project start- up, and identifies scheduled activities and milestones throughout the project’s duration. With that program, the company ensures an “orderly and timely project closeout for all stakeholders,” and they “verify the building has been constructed, commissioned, activated and transferred according to the original expectations set forth in the contract, project plans, and specifications.” Buttcon also has a ‘Triple A’ scheduling program, which is used to promote “Accuracy, Awareness and Accountability.” As part of that program, they use project management software to create an accurate schedule including all critical milestones, they post the schedule for all stakeholders to see, they conduct weekly site meetings to review the schedule of the next two weeks, and they resolve scheduling issues with their QRP and CAT programs. “We’re extremely thorough in terms of communicating and making sure we’re staying on track,” Jerry says. “That’s why we’re able to deliver projects quickly, but without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.”
