THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA Nicholas began his career in the construction industry at a young age. He trained as a carpenter in high school, then spent several years working on a framing crew, and then formed his own framing business at 21 years old. With that first company, he worked for many of the city’s volume builders, and he did some framing for another company that built garages. He found that he enjoyed the work, and he had a vision of doing it at a larger scale. In 2008, he formed Premier Built Garages to see that vision through. In the years since, the company has grown at a steady pace. With every year, their turnover has increased, and they have been able to consistently add talent to both their direct team and their team of subcontractors – while still retaining the team members that made their success possible to begin with. “We work with a lot of great people, and a lot of great suppliers and sub-trades,” Nicholas says. “We’ve been very lucky as far as that’s concerned. The core group we’ve worked with for years and years. Some people we’ve been working with since we started, they’ve been around for all 13 years.” Today, the company’s business is divided between garages built for homebuilders and garages built directly for homeowners.
