The project comprises two buildings with a mix of studio and two-bedroom units, a third amenity building, and a common garden. Currently, the firm is also doing a 34-unit project in Sechelt for Sunshine Coast Community Services. That building is six- storeys and mixed-use – the first two floors include 1,200 square feet of space for social services, while the top four floors include housing for women and children in need. “That’s a really great project, for a really great client, and it’s going to make a great impact,” Jesse says. “And it looks cool too. It was a really challenging site, with a lot of limitations, which actually gave us the chance to be more creative.” Moving forward, Studio 531 hopes to do more projects along those lines – they want to continue being creative and they want to continue creating positive social outcomes for their community.
