relationships with our clients,” Jesse says. “We have a support staff, but we’re small enough that if you’re a client, you’re going to be working directly with Tom and myself. We’re very hands-on. I think clients appreciate that.” “We’re in a world where small firms are increasingly being amalgamated into larger and larger organizations,” he adds. “I think some clients really appreciate a smaller shop staying small. They like being able to pick up the phone and call me or Tom. They like having a more personal connection to the team.” Because they are a smaller firm, Studio 531 is nimble and efficient in their use of resources, which means their services are also cost-effective. That efficiency is enhanced by their use of building information modelling and 3D modelling, which enables them to efficiently design larger projects with smaller teams. Jesse reiterates how vital those relationships are: “Buildings are for people,” he says. “I believe that deeply. In order for us to do our job, we have to make a personal connection with the client. That’s really important. We have to take the time to make sure we really understand what their values are and how we can help them achieve success.” THE CONSTRUCTION SOURCE CANADA
