The clients with those challenging projects tend to seek us out, because they know what we’re capable of.” Arno has been in the design and architecture industry for more than 30 years. He was born in Vancouver, educated in Boston, Oregon, and London, and he has worked across the world. Over the course of his professional career, he’s played an active role in the design and management of numerous award-winning landmark projects, both locally and internationally. As a senior director of Bing Architects, he was involved in ‘Arena Stage’ in Washington and the ‘Sunset Community Centre’ in Vancouver. In 2006, Arno founded AMA with a small team, at first working out of a shipping container they had converted into an office. From the start, they wanted to do “high-calibre work,” the kind that Arno had already earned a lot of experienced doing. “I spent about 15 years with Bing Thom Architects,” Arno recalls. “When I left, we were doing international projects. We were competing with the best firms in the world.
