They were selected by the joint venture partnership of Quadreal Property Group and Westbank. Building 1 is a 5-storey civic centre comprising of a fitness centre, child daycare facility, 55+ senior’s center, youth services hub, performance space, artist-in-residence studios, and associated ancillary cultural/recreational spaces. Building 2 is a 22-storey residential tower containing a total of 185 non-market social housing units over three levels of underground parking. Buildings 1 and 2 will be owned by the City of Vancouver upon completion. The architectural team on the project is Henriquez Partners Architects andDiamond Schmitt Architects and the landscape architect is PFS studio. According to Garry, KCM is so effective at building large- scale projects like that one due to a number of reasons.
