That’s why they choose us.” Sonnarc Homes was founded by President Martin Sonnenberg – Tyler’s father, and a builder with over four decades of experience in the construction industry in Kitchener-Waterloo and beyond. Over the course of his career, Martin has worked on new home builds, renovations and commercial projects of all shapes and sizes in various parts of the world. Prior to becoming a builder, Martin worked as a stonemason for roughly 27 years, and within the growing region, he built the company’s aforementioned reputation for quality workmanship and honest service. He learned those values from his own father, a stonemason who immigrated to Canada from Germany in the 1950s. Martin started working with him as a teenager, first as a labourer, and later as a partner in business before striking out on his own. Nowadays, he is excited to be able to work closely with own son, passing along his knowledge to the next generation of Sonnenberg builders.
