He started developing as a side gig, with his first group of investors being his friends from work. After achieving quick success with his first few projects, he moved into the industry full time. He officially formed Cascadia Green in 2009, and he has since developed and constructed more than 650,000 square feet of property. Today, Cascadia Green focuses on multi-family and mixed-use developments. Theyparticularly focus on that achieve positive social outcomes for their communities. “That’s our passion,” Farzad says. “We don’t believe in building just to build. We believe in providing something that benefits everyone. We believe in creating win-win situations. We truly believe, from the bottom of our hearts, in partnering with communities and creating solutions where everyone gets what they want.” “There’s us, there’s the city / municipalitie, and there’s the community,” he adds. “If one side of that triangle wins and the others lose, then that’s a big failure in our books. If two sides win and one loses, that’s also a big failure. The project has to benefit everybody or we don’t believe it’s worth doing.” Achieving those ‘win-win-win’ scenarios often requires a “high level of innovation and creativity,” Farzad explains. He says that every member of Cascadia Green’s team takes pride in delivering that creativity. “That’s what we want to be known for,” he says. “We want to be known as the company that provides innovative solutions and new ways of doing things.
