Before that, they worked on the Hyatt Re- gency Calgary, also doing all the room furniture. Other recent projects have included: the new wing of the Calgary Internation- al Airport, where they did all the check-in counters; the renova- tions of the CF Chinook Centre and CF Market Mall, where they did all the panelling; and the Bank & Baron Pub, which was a historical building with an ex- tremely detailed free-standing bar. According to Lisa, clients choose Nick’s Woodcraft for those higher-end jobs because of their reputation. “We’ve been around 50 years, and we’re very well known for our quality,” she says. “Nick was always adamant about that. It’s something we would never compromise on.” Nick’s Woodcraft’s quality con- trol system is very stringent. Before any product leaves their production area, it is thorough- ly vetted to ensure that it meets their high standards, and that it is exactly what the customer requested in the first place. A project manager will further vet every product after installation, and if there’s a problem, they make sure it’s resolved to the customer’s satisfaction. Because of that stringency, Lisa says that Nick’s Woodcraft proj- ect very rarely has any deficien- cies. “That’s a big plus for us and for our clients,” she says. “It means we don’t have to go back and do a bunch of work after we complete the project.
