‘Best New Home Design over 4,00o sq. ft.,’ ‘Best Master Suite over 560 sq. ft.,’ and ‘Best Inte- rior – Residential 4,000 to 6,000 sq. ft.’ The wide range of categories is a testament to the project’s all-around excellence. Jeremy credits that excellence to the dedication of every single mem- ber of the project team. Mid- night Cypress was designer Va- nessa Parker’s personal home, so he says was exciting to take direction from someone who has an extremely unique vision. So much of the designer’s own personality and history was in- jected into the project – much of the timber was sourced from her hometown on northern Vancouver Island, for example The result, Jeremy says, is “a pretty remarkable house, to say the least.” “You walk in every single room and you say ‘Wow.’ It all just blows you away,” he says. “The quality of the workmanship, the inventiveness architecture and design – you can just tell that everybody who worked on it tried to make it the absolute best it can be.” “At the end of the day, the peo- ple we are working for need to be ultimately satisfied, that is the most important thing.” Since then, Jeremy says that Designated Developments has continued to deliver the same kind of client-satisfying and award-worthy quality. This year, for example, they were planning to submit four more homes for CARE Awards before the event was cancelled. And when the event returns, they are confident they will have more worthy projects ready and waiting. JUNE 2020
