The Construction Source

All the best, The Editorial Team We will keep adding business units that enhance our offering and separate us from our competition. “ ” Editor From The Dear Reader, Welcome to the latest issue of Construction Source Canada, the magazine that highlights the best in building and building prod- ucts across the country. We have a packed edition this time, featuring some of the most highly-acclaimed companies from across the building and de- velopment sector. From developers, builders, building subcon- tractors, material suppliers, to architects and designers – this issue has it all. Stonerise Construction, for example, is a builder and develop- er, and the company behind some of the most highly-regarded high-rises in Ontario’s Waterloo Region. We were fortunate to catch up with their leader, Wade Gayowsky, and go in-depth on some of their recent and ongoing projects, which are setting new standards for quality in the region. We also talked about the company’s quick and comprehensive response to COVID-19, and why the policies and procedures they implemented were commended by the Ministry of Labour. Magnificient Homes, meanwhile, is a homebuilder behind a growing volume of custom homes in nearby London, Ontario. They have worked in some of the region’s most exciting up-and- coming master-planned communities, and they have built a trusted reputation among both individual clients and develop- ers. Omar Srour, the company’s President, talked to us about earning that reputation, and how they have maintained it even while growing at a rapid pace. Also featured in this edition are Pickard Construction and Park Lighting & Furniture – a pair of companies in different provinc- es, providing different services, but with a remarkable amount in common. Both started from humble beginnings and have achieved tremendous growth, both remain family owned-and- operated and both were founded in in exactly 1979. In Pickard’s case, their business began in Meaford, Ontario. Over 40 years later, they are now the province’s go-to expert for all aspects of telecommunications-related new construction, repair and maintenance. Park Lighting, meanwhile, started in Edmonton, Alberta. Today, they have the largest lighting store in the city and they have supplied to some of the province’s largest projects. For those stories – and a lot more like them, about leaders both new and longstanding – just keep reading.
