With this edition, we close the chapter on 2020 – a challenging year for most builders and developers, but one that many have endured admirably, and come out stronger on the other side. Our cover story this month is a good example – Panattoni Development Company is a developer of consistently award winning industrial and office developments with a bright outlook. Since coming to Canada in 2005, they have developed an unparalleled depth of experience in their field, and have made their mark across the GTA, Calgary, Edmonton, and beyond. Their first project was the largest speculative facility in Canada at the time, and they are currently working on an even larger development for the same client. The pandemic slowed Panattoni Development Company the same as any company, but it has also accelerated the e-commerce industry, which means a greater demand for fulfillment centres – which Panattoni understands how to better thanmaybe anyone else. We caught upwithMichael Smele, Executive Vice President, and we talked about how they are seizing that opportunity. We also talked about the company’s history in Canada, the way they combine global backing with intense local expertise, and their philosophy of never taking clients for granted.
