Denna Homes, for example, is the trailblazing company behind Seylynn Village, an award-winning master planned community that is quickly becoming one of North Vancouver’s most sought- after neighborhoods. Comprising three world-class towers, an extraordinary club- house, and boasting picturesque mountain and downtown views, the village’s potential is undeniable now – but it wasn’t always. Dr. Abo Taheri, Managing Partner of Denna Homes, was one of the first to recognize the possibilities, and people called him crazy. He talked to us about trusting his gut, proving every- one wrong, and winning the UDI Award for Best Multi-Phase / Master Planned Community. Another forward-thinker featured in this issue is Give Back Con- tracting, which provides erosion and sediment control solutions for some of the most interesting projects in Canada – and they do it while giving back to the environment, their employees, and the communities in which they work. The commitment they have to supporting those stakeholders is virtually unprece- dented in their industry. We spoke to founder and partner Con- stantine Grechko about the uniqueness of his ethos, and the competitive edge it’s given them.
